Schengen 90/180 — no DNV; Živnostenský freelance visa exists but harder than it used to be.
Editorial summary, not legal advice. Verify with the relevant consulate before applying — visa programs change with little notice.
Field notes
Punches well above its price for quality-of-life, transport, and dining. Vinohrady and Karlín are the nomad neighborhoods. Schengen-clock applies, and the Czech freelance visa (Živnostenský) has gotten meaningfully harder than it was five years ago.
Cold winters with regular snow (Jan–Feb), mild humid summers (Jul–Aug peak 20°C). The shoulders are short and bright. Best window May–September.
