Field notes

Saint Lucia's capital on the island's northwest coast — most long-stay nomads base in Rodney Bay or Cap Estate further north, with Soufrière in the south the rainforest-and-Pitons alternative. The Live It DNV is one of the cheapest Caribbean applications ($75) — 1-year stay, no published income floor. The structural draws are the dramatic volcanic geography (the twin Pitons rise 700m+ directly from the sea) and a meaningfully calmer rhythm than the resort-island peers. English-default with widespread French Creole. Hurricane risk is real (Saint Lucia sits in the main Atlantic track).

Tropical Caribbean — Saint Lucia's rugged volcanic geography produces meaningful microclimate variance; the windward east coast gets significantly more rainfall than Castries on the lee side. Dry season (December–April) is the postcard window. Wet season (May–November) brings afternoon thunderstorms and overlaps hurricane season; the island sits in the main Atlantic track. Trade winds keep the heat workable year-round (26–28°C). Humidity peaks above 78% in late summer.
